ACoruna has a culture rich in music, fine art and food. There are many fine art museums that are all over the city that house not only the local art but also famous pieces from around the European continent. ACoruna is home to many famous artists, too many to name, but there are a few that have significantly helped to place ACoruna on the map through their artwork. Luis Seoane is noted for putting Galicia into view by his style of painting that was deemed to be 'specifically Galician.
' Urbano Lugris, a contemporary painter of the twentieth century, helped to bring ACoruna to view with his introduction of real and mythological Galician themes to the Avent-Garde schools of painting in Spain. Now, his work is studies all throughout the country and he is revered as one of Spain's greatest artists. ACoruna, the largest metropolitan town of the Galician Province is also well known for its music. The Galicia Symphony Orchestra, or OSG as most people refer to it as, is a completely city funded project that has brought many other kinds of music to Galicia as well. The OSG is an excellent representative to the city of ACoruna and the best ensemble group of all of Europe. The Galicia Symphony Orchestra has been a lovely platform for other musicians as well. They have brought about the existence of the youth orchestra, the choir, the chamber orchestra, the college of orchestral practice, the municipal college of music and the choirboys. These projects are all funded by the Galicia Symphony Orchestra and in many cases have been used as an outreach program for many of the youth of ACoruna whom are interested in music. The culture of ACoruna Spain is also very rich in food. Wine is a very popular commodity in ACoruna and there are vineyards that surround the outside of the city. Local wineries are popular for their brands of Monterrey, valdeorras, ribeira sacra, and rias baixas.
